Black Friday

We had a GREAT Thanksgiving dinner with my parents, grandparents, and Jon's two aunts. We enjoyed spending the day together with good company, fun games, and of course GOOD food! My mom and I went Black Friday shopping at midnight. We were in line at Old Navy for 3 hours, but in and out of that store in 15 minutes. Next, we waited inside (yeah for being inside a warm building) at Wal-Mart. The sale there started at 5am, and we got everything we needed (except the memory sticks and some clothes that went instantly) and we were out of that store within 18 minutes. Next, we waited in line (outside again) for K-mart and got what we needed and were out of the store in 11 minutes. We went to Target last and while my mom waited in line I browsed the store. That was our longest time spent in a store, one hour and 15 minutes. I came home and took a nice long nap.

We also had our Rogers' Family Christmas party tonight. It was so much fun. Santa surprised us all and showed up with gifts for all the kids. Alex and Caleb got Transformers from Santa and Leah got a Barbie. We sang "Jingle Bells" with him and everyone got to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas. It was a fun party.

As if my early morning shopping was not enough, we all went to K-mart as a family after the famiy party. Leah had some spending money that she needed (yes...NEEDED) to spend. We were in K-mart for more than 2 hours. It was so nice and quiet and I found a lot of things that were still in stock that were the great deals.

What a day! I'm ready for bed!

A Weekend With Dad

I was at meetings all day Friday and Saturday at a Wilton Cake Decorating Instructor Meeting. The meetings were held in Salt Lake both days. Jon had taken Thursday and Friday off of work to make grape juice. So, we made grape juice all day Thursday so he and the kids could come to Salt Lake with me on Friday and have fun together. It worked out perfect that the kids were out of school for Fall Break too. Jon started by taking the kids to the zoo.
They loved getting to see the new BABY elephant!
Next they went to Liberty Park to play on the swings.
We all enjoy the last good weather days of the fall.
Then to visit Aunt Robin and Aunt Denise.
They are so loving and always spoil us with treats!

Jon and the kids didn't come with me to Salt Lake on saturday. Alex's friend was getting baptized and he wanted to go to that. So, Jon took them on a bike ride to the lake and did some fishing with them. It was a tiring ride (that Jon swears he'll never do it again without me there to help). He is so great with the kids. I'm so glad he's such a great dad. My kids are so lucky...and so am I!

Jon's Been Busy

Jon LOVES homemade grape juice. He LOVES it so much that he took a few days off work to can his own! Our wonderful neighbor offered her grapes to us and Jon worked at steaming it into juice all day and most of the night. He's so great! He ended up with 47 quarts of grape juice. That's almost 12 gallons!

Farewell Friends

We are so sad to see our good friends, the Kruegers, move so far away! But, we are really happy for them and their new adventures that lie ahead.

Trine has been such a great friend and is always willing to help me out whenever I need it. She was also a great workout buddy for a very long time.

Larry and Jon had good times together. When they were working together on something there was always more laughter than work!

Leyna and Leah had their moments when they just couldn't get along, but they have become such great friends. Leyna gave Leah a memory book for her birthday and Leah has been putting pictures of her and Leyna and Kayla in the book.

Kayla is such a cutie! She is going to change so much by the time I see her next. I'm glad we have the internet so I can still catch some glimpses of her! Leah loved babysitting Kayla. She loved holding her and playing with her (probably a little too much because Kayla felt smothered at times).
Trine invited us over to her in-laws house to go for a swim and have one last get-together before they left. We had SO much fun!

I am so glad we got to know Trine and Larry. We have done a lot of fun things together and I really appreciated the temple night babysitting swaps we did every month. I secretly hope they move back to Provo when Larry's done with school, but for some reason Trine wants to end up in California by her family!! :) Where ever they end up I know that we've made great friends for life. See you soon Kruegers!!
