Silly Shower Hair-do
My kids have a ton of fun taking showers. They take longer showers than I do, especially Alex. He's in there for 30 minutes sometimes! I sneaked into the bathroom to get some funny shots of him doing his hair into a mohawk.

Snowmobiling
We went snowmobiling in the fields behind my parent's neighborhood. The kids had so much fun. Leah didn't want to ride on the sled so she got to ride with Daddy.
Papa was pulling the "bathtub" sled (as Leah called it). Caleb and Alex liked filling it full of snow so they could throw snow balls at everyone else that passed by them.
I got inside the sled with Alex and my mom pulled both of us around for a ride.
Then, it was Nanny's turn to get in the sled with Alex. She was smart and used the tarp for a shield to protect them from the flying snow.
Even after they loaded up to come back the kids still hadn't had enough snow time and played in my parent's back yard for a while longer. Their snow suits were soaked by the time we got them inside to get warm.

A Fun Weekend
We got to go to Nephi on Saturday to see Jon's little sister, Sophia, be baptized. It was such a great day. We watched President Gordon B. Hinckley's funeral and graveside service that morning/afternoon and felt the spirit so strongly. Then at the baptism we were able to feel that spirit again. We are so proud of Sophia. She looked so happy and excited to be baptized. We enjoyed spending time with family.
That night Jon also got to serve his other little sister, Merry, by helping her install a new alternator in her van. He was happy to help her out and was glad we live close by so he could help her.
Sunday we went to my Aunt and Uncle's house for a Super Bowl Party. I would just call it a "party" because we could care less about watching football. We just like to go for the socializing and I love to play games too. My kids loved playing with the other little kids that were there. They are really good about making new friends and seem to have a good time no matter who is around. Overall it was a great weekend. I hope this week will bring our family more happy times and good health (we struggled a bit last week with Leah being sick, but she's doing much better now).

I've Been Tagged
Laura tagged me, so here are my answers to the questions.
1. Best thing you cooked last week? homemade taco salads. I deep fried the tortilla bowls myself and everything. I was so yummy! It tasted just like we were eating out at a restraunt.
2. If money, time and babysitting were no object, where would you go and with whom? I would go to Germany with Jon and see the areas where his family came from.
3. When was the last time you cried? After a very overwhelming day dealing with kids a few days ago. Jon's a great listener (even if it's hard to understand me through my blubbering).
4. Five things you were doing 10 years ago: I was a Senior in High School getting ready to attend Snow College. My friend, Amber (Mecham) Miyake and I were looking for apartments to live in.
5. Five things you were doing 5 years ago: Living in the house we are in now. We were in the process of remodeling the room that is now Caleb's, our living room, our bedroom, and the room that is now Leah's. This is when we first got carpet for our living room.
6. Five things you were doing 1 year ago: Jon got lasik surgery and became a High Priest. I was teaching cake decorating classes.
7. Seven of your favorite hobbies: cake decorating, cooking, scrapbooking, taking pictures, blogging, playing games, and being a stay-at-home mom.

Jon's Golden Birthday
Hooray for Jon! He turned 31 today, January 31st! It's kind of a special year for him since it's his "golden birthday." Alex also celebrated his golden birthday by turning 7 on January 7th this year. It was because of Alex's observation that we even realized this.
I got up especially early this morning to make some hot oatmeal for Jon to have before he went to work. I was up by 6:30am (I know, that's a SHOCK that I can actually function that early...but when it's for someone special I make a good effort). The kids got up just in time to see Jon before he went off to work and to wish him a happy birthday.
Jon got to go to lunch at Golden Corral with his coworkers to celebrate his birthday. He came home to a home cooked meal of pork chops, mashed potatoes, and peas and corn. He's never very hungry for dinner after having a big meal for lunch, so I'm glad I didn't make a whole lot of any one thing.
We had ice cream sundaes for dessert that we got to customize with different candies (m&m's, reece's pieces, peanut butter cups, and caramel topping). It was yummy. He had some mail to open today, but no presents. He mainly got cash (most of which was given to him at his early party), so it was a quiet birthday here at home. That's the kind he enjoys the most. We'll cuddle up to watch a movie tonight too.
So, here's to you, Jon, on your 31st birthday! I love you and hope you have had a WONDERFUL day!

My Sweet Husband
Last Wednesday Jon surprised me by setting up a babysitter and taking me on a date! Wednesdays are usually his welding class days, so I assumed that he needed to leave by 6:00pm to get to class. I was in the middle of doing laundry and at 5:45pm he said, "Let's all go on a pajama-rama before I need to leave." To tell you the truth I was frustrated. I KNEW there wasn't enough time for a pajama-rama before he needed to leave in 15 minutes! As I was trying to convnice him to do it another time he finally told me that we were going to a BYU basketball game. He had arranged for our good friends Larry and Trine to watch our kids for us. I was really surprised. I was a GREAT game. We got to see the end of the game, which was the best part. BYU won by 3 points. I'm so glad that I have such a thoughtful husband. Maybe I should be more willing to do spontaneous things (even if I'm convinced there isn't enough time).

Angela's Determination
The boys got more Legos from Aunt Robin. We traded in their two smaller sets (one of which we already had) for a larger set. They picked out a Batman Lego set. It has 1075 pieces and took me 4 1/2 hours to build. The set originally retails for $89.99. We got it on clearance for only $45! I wanted to surprise the kids when they woke up, so I worked on it all night. Jon helped me do the Robin car and the Penguin Submarine. I built everything else. It's an awesome set and has so many neat features. I guess it was worth staying up until 2am to finish it because the kids have been playing with Legos all day today. They were so excited to see their new Batman Legos. Double click on the picture to get a closer look at all the hard work.
